Terry Lee, Associate Research Scientist at the Beckman Research Institute of the City of Hope, received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Oregon. As a post-doctoral fellow at the Oregon Graduate Center he made the transition from synthetic organic chemist to mass spectrometrist. Dr. Lee worked briefly for Cetus Corp. in Berkeley, CA before moving to his present location within the Division of Immunology at the City of Hope.Dr. Lee has a broad range of research interests. He has considerable experience in the isolation and characterization of biologically active compounds including pheromones, neurotransmitters, hormones, and lymphokines. Much of his work in recent years is devoted to the development of new instrumentation for the characterization of biomolecules, particularly the interface of capillary liquid chromatography and microsequencing to mass spectrometry.
